Cory made a wonderful comment about things he forgot to budget in his move, it included garbage cans!!
This is a great economic and logistical point.
Good garbage cans can cost between $30 and $70 each. When you move you generate tons of garbage (think of all that wrapping paper, boxes, etc...). We always like having 2 cans -- that's an extra $60 to $140.
With some scavenger services you must use their cans. It may take 2-4 weeks to have them delivered and you need to pay fees - often higher than a local home improvement store would charge.
It's certainly best to order these cans before your move.
Who would ever imagine they would write about garbage cans when they grow up?
BTW, my favourite are the 32 gallon with wheels. Also, it's a good idea to add starting garbage pick-up to your to do list.
