Oops...I called too late. The rollover was handled with wonderful efficiency - I really have to complement the UPromise College Savings Program. Unfortunately the money is now in IL's Bright Start Savings Program - neither a bright start not a merry one.
I did ask UPromise what would happen with my shopping rebates, which are normally pushed into the 529. They told me they will accrue at UPromise until I link another 529 plan with them. They support 12-16 plans currently, not just their own. I was glad to hear that.
Now I need to pick the best plan and start contributing.
