I logged on-line and spent quite a bit of time with Quicken's on-line technical support.
Although quite polite, it was of limited value.
We held the control-shift buttons down and performed a super validate (select validate from file->file operations menu -- after backing it up) and found no errors.
Afterwards I was able to perform a one step update without memory errors, through my wife's schwab account still has problems.
The ultimate issue is whether these will reoccur.
Intuit's people did not admit that others were having memory errors and their website is very limited in it's discussion.
